• 1/ Design Consultation

We begin with a design consultation at my studio or on a video call to discuss what you would like.

We’ll look at inspiration images together and I’ll show you fabric samples from my extensive collection.

Whether you have a clear idea of your design or you would like to explore a few ideas, I can guide you through the design process. I’ll create a first sketch and your measurements will be taken.

  • 2/ The Toile

The toile is prototype of your design.

It is made from your measurements taken at the initial consultation and it is unique to you.

At this stage we will critique the design and make any necessary adjustments. We will also drape fabrics over the silhouette to define the lines of the dress and help you visualise exactly how the finished garment will look.

  • 3/ Fittings

At the first fitting, you will get to try on your bespoke design in the real fabric. Although still in the very early stages of development, your design will really be starting to take shape.

From this point on, each bespoke commission is different and will require a different number of fittings depending on the design. During the fittings I will get the fit just right and any embellishment will be added. The final stage is to add linings and hem the finished piece.
